Here's an update on the current state of things:
  1. Alice: Currently broken and doesn't even start up (infinite loop in the code), so you can't get on. This will unfortunately be the case for at least another week. Unfortunately, the situation is pretty dire and I need a few hours to devote to figuring out the cause. However, it would be admittedly be easier if we did something else...
  2. Vincent: The griefing around spawn was fixed (a bunch of people were accepted the other day). Note that we need to decide what to do about MC 1.8, so please post on that thread.
  3. Sponge: Sponge is the Bukkit-like thing I'm spearheading. It's progressing with the help of a number of other developers, but I personally can't devote much time to it these few weeks (similar to the situation with Alice), so I can't give a precise update on it either.

If you are a recently joined member, unfortunately this is not a great time to join (unless you like playing on Vincent, then you're set).

I will be pretty busy for the next several weeks, so that means everything may grind to a standstill with the server for a few weeks. I will see what I can do but I make no promises.

That said, for Vincent players, please tell me how you want to handle an update to MC 1.8:
  • Just load the 1.7 world on 1.8
  • Load the 1.7 world on 1.8 (=> bad chunks) and make a new 1.8 world that runs in addition to the 1.7 world
  • Pregen 1.7 world to a certain boundary (but not necessarily the world border) and make a new 1.8 world that runs in addition to the 1.7 world
  • Reset and start on 1.8 (I assume this is not desired by anyone)

Alice has been having troubles lately, but I've been busy with some other things so I haven't been able to investigate.

In the mean time, I have reset the list of chunks that are auto-loaded, which does mean you have to reset your quarries (sorry), but this might let the server run again for a while.

Server lag on Vincent should be fixed.

Alice is temporarily down due to an infinite loop in the code involving EnderIO and Thermal Expansion Tesseracts.

Unfortunately, it would appear that Alice is stuck in a loop at the moment, and no one is currently available to fix her. We apologise for the inconvenience.

The server is back up.

Please read: To account for people not playing anymore, we have reset all chunk loaders. Please break and replace your quarries and pumps to re-activate them.

In addition, we have adjusted a setting that automatically loads chunks when mods try to lookup a block at a location, which allowed Ender IO pipes to act as chunk loaders. This likely is the reason why some of your bases depleted resources while you were offline.
