MC1244 lets you milk cows and shear sheep automatically. To use it, place [MC1244]s on a sign on the second line and then put a radius on the third line. A chest needs to go above the block behind the sign, as illustrated below.
For the harvester IC to work, you need to put shears in the chest to be able to shear sheep and empty buckets into the chest to be able to milk cows.
Unfortunately, you also need to add a clock signal to the front in order for the harvester to work, despite the presence of "s" on the sign to indicate "self-triggered" mode.
The easiest way to set up a clock is to use the design below with two Redstone repeaters in opposite directions. Starting the clock involves quickly turning a lever on one side and then immediately off. If both sides are lit at the same time, you waited too long to turn off the lever, so quickly break Redstone on one side and replace it immediately. If both sides are alternating, then you've successfully started the clock.
