  • The Slime Island is now open! With 4 new quests added, as well.
  • Get a supply of slime balls by completing the quest.
  • The quest can be started from the docks at spawn.
  • If slimes are not spawning, be aware that monster spawn rates are automatically reduced during periods of server lag.

Thanks to famerdave and tiffykoros for their contribution to the island.

In other news:
  • The mining world's creation is still pending.
  • HTTP API and the FTP server are also still pending.

  • Fixed crash issue preventing the placement of Silverwood Saplings from Thaumcraft.
  • Fixed issue with a number of Thaumcraft golems not working.
  • Available on next server restart: fixed crashing when using the RedPower 2 timer while holding a block.

This is a combination client and server update. You will be prompted to update your game upon login with the launcher.
  • Added more performance tweaks to the server.
  • Fixed Thermal Expansion's Crescent Hammer not properly working on shift right-click.
  • Fixed Logistics Pipes crashing.
  • Fixed buckets in deployers destroying the bucket.
  • Fixed scrapboxes in dispensers not working.
  • Fixed the wireless redstone jammer not working.
  • Enabled the GregTech automation machines, the Electric Autocrafter, the Item Clearer, the Rock Breaker, and the Scrapboxinator.

  • Some major performance tweaks were made. Even with 70 people on, the server may not lag. If all goes well in the coming day, then we may have the mining world!

In other news:
  • Portions of Logistics Pipes no longer work because of the Thaumcraft update. This will be fixed shortly.

Alice has been updated with patch #6. The changes include:
  • Updated ExtraBees to version 1.4.9.31-prerelease.
  • Updated Thaumcraft to version 3.0.2b.
  • Added NEIPlugins.
  • Removed QuickCraft. (Note: If you still want QuickCraft, some instructions will be provided to install it manually.)

You will be prompted to update your game when you login with the launcher.

Alice crashed due to Wireless Redstone and would not start again, so I had to fix that. While I was uploading the new server, something came up, and this lead to prolonged down time, but we're back up.

  • Jetpacks should no longer do fall damage.
  • Mob levels should return to normal when the server is not lagging.
  • The server will now take more aggressive automated measures to fix server lag when needed.

C9 is now open! For those are new to the server, this is a special place where you can listen to live music, queued by you! :) YouTube videos (sound only) of your choosing are played in the C9 dance hall.

Please be aware that frame borers or other large automated massive mining operations (for reasons other than making room to build) are only permitted on the mining world. If you have already started on one or completed a machine, please dismantle it.

For those who are new to the server, the mining world is a separate world that is reset fairly infrequently, but more often than the main world is reset, that is dedicated to mining operations, both manual and automatic. However, the mining world is not yet active, though it should be opened soon. It is waiting on ongoing performance tests as I see how well the server can perform with a peak number of players (50-70 players online). We've made good progress from a week ago when the server ran at a pitiful clock rate of two ticks per second (nominal rate is 20 ticks/second) to a more acceptable 13-15 ticks/second as of yesterday, but I'd like to hit a normal rate of at minimum 17 ticks per second even under load.
