Joe and I have spent more than a dozen hours on this update, fixing bugs and what not, and we're happy to announce the 2nd update to Alice 1.2.5! There's a number of new things this time around, and also plenty of other bug fixes.

Update warning: This update will likely wipe your minimap waypoints and keybindings, including InvTweaks settings, unless you make a note to first backup mods/rei_minimap and InvTweak files in config/.

What's updated:
  • Forestry
  • Furniture Mod
  • IndustrialCraft 2
  • Nuclear Control
  • PowerConverters
  • Railcraft
  • TubeStuff
  • Wireless Redstone

What's new:

We tried adding Iron Chests, Enderstorage, Paintball, and Balkon's Weapon Mod, but we ran into a long list of issues that we'll have to tackle again another day.
Also, I've added a list of custom sounds to the industrial alarm in Nuclear Control, and a portion of these songs are spoken numbers ("one," "two," "three," etc.), which, if combined with RedPower computers (or other circuitry), you can have your machines say out numbers to you.

A update of Alice's mods is pending at the moment. We're hoping to push an update within the next day, but we are currently having trouble with an client-side rendering error we have to fix.

The following mods have seen updates:
  • IndustrialCraft2
  • Forestry
  • TubeStuff
  • Railcraft
  • Wireless Redstone
  • Nuclear Control

Since we have some extra time, I'm currently open for any suggestions for any new mods to add.

  • World Anchor Carts on Alice should work again, theoretically.
  • Water Strainers (from PowerConverters) have been disabled because they appear to have a severe crash bug. The blocks still exist however, and their functionality will be restored in the near future. Only the code to fill the strainer has been removed for now (effectively disabling it, of course).
  • An obscure bug involving RedPower, Deployers, and Railcraft carts has been fixed.

We're switching to TeamSpeak from Mumble.
  1. Get the free TeamSpeak client.
  2. Connect to voip.skcraft.com and use the password "babies"

So I'd like to ask - do we want to switch to TeamSpeak?

Of course, the client for TeamSpeak is free just as it is for Mumble and Ventrillo.

  • Below ground frame borers within 2000 units of 0, 0 are banned.
  • Any infringing borers will be destroyed.
  • If you do not know what I am referring to, you are not affected.

  • Right click netherwarts in the Nether with diamonds to plant a Glowstone tree. You cannot use a Deployer on Alice to automate this. Trees will generally give around ~30 glowstone at most.
  • World Anchor Carts are (temporarily?) mostly disabled on Alice because they are causing a server crash in one particular area. They will load areas but will not keep areas loaded.

  • There's a new ReDispense recipe to cut vines, tall grass, dead shrubs, and leaves. Use shears in the middle and iron for the corners in the recipe.
  • Made cake refill equivalent saturation as to bread.
  • Fixed bug where shortened URLs would be cut off
  • Fixed bug where ender pearls at End portals also went to the mining world.
  • Fixed bug where chat text bled through (MapPad) to chat.

  • XP bottlers now bottle more XP and lose less XP in the process.
  • Wooden pressure plates are no longer triggered by non-player living things.
  • URLs are now shortened in chat automatically, and chat is word wrapped.
